    Preventing Childhood Malaria in Africa During the Rainy Season

    In countries like Cameroon, Mali, and Niger, the rainy season means mosquitoes - and malaria. Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) is a campaign-style intervention that involves giving an antimalarial medicine at monthly intervals for a maximum of four months during the rainy season when malaria transmission spikes and children are most vulnerable.
