    At this year's annual meeting of the American Society of Tropical Medical and Hygiene there will be a number of PMI-supported symposia, scientific sessions, and poster presentations. Furthermore, PMI and partners are hosting a TropMed Fireside Chat on Tuesday, October 27, during which experts discuss efforts to combat malaria.

    On Monday, the Nobel Assembly announced the award of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Medicine. This year’s Nobel Laureates developed therapies that have revolutionized the treatment of some of the most devastating diseases caused by parasites. Youyou Tu was rewarded for her research on malaria therapy.
